The Abstruse Bond

Confab With Me

She thought we cannot be one,
for the gorge between us
is too narrow,
quite steep
and impossible to tame

But then she forgot
about the stream
running between the couloir
bonding the two extremes
playing a melodious hum

Our Love

Confab With Me

How we borrowed numerous thoughts
from the magical creations of this world
like the chirping from birds,
and the whistling from winds,
the coldness from mist
and the hues from the evening skies’ dream

How we weaved them into
the strings of hope and faith
some called it absurd
few labeled it as insanity
for us it was nothing but an expression of blissful love

So happy to know that my two poems have been accepted in the UK based Writer’s Cafe Magazine for the July issue based on the theme “Maps and Landscapes”. Really thankful to the generous editor Marie Lightman for continuously supporting my work and for challenging the writer with a monthly theme.

You can read my poem here.

Happy blogging!

“Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say…” – Art of Quotation

A great repost – I hope you enjoy it!!!

“Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer. – Barbara Kingsolver, writer &nb…

Question Fun-Silliest Questions

Keep it alive

Would you rather have hot fudge or chocolate sauce on your hot fudge sundae?

Yes, definitely hot fudge sauce. And then could I please have an extra topping of hot fudge sauce.

Was the cat in the hat, or was he wearing it?

The bunny was in the hat, not the cat. The cat wears the hat. You should know that!

If you were on Scooby-Doo, would you rather be Daphne or Velma, and why?

I think Velma is the smart one. I would like to be her, if being in a silly cartoon would make me look smart.

Where do you go when you say you’ll be right back?

To grab a quick bite to eat with my besties!

How long will you ‘really’ be gone, when you say you’ll be right back?

A minute?

An hour?

A day?

Infinity time?

Never ever come back?

Infinity!

Why do you…

Sirens At Sea

Sarah Doughty

“Like a siren pulling me out to sea,
all I can do is hope that I’ll find
something beautiful. Hopeful.
Like you.”

I feel this residual memory tugging at the back of my mind like a bird trying to catch a worm after a mid-summer thunderstorm. It’s one of those knocking, ever-present forces that I’m unsure if I ever want to know. Like a stranger knocking at the door. You never know what you’ll find if you answer it. But yet, no matter how much I resist, it’s as if my feet are moving toward that door of their own accord. Like a siren is pulling me out to sea. All I can do is watch. And wait. And hope that what waits on the other side is something beautiful. Something that gives me hope. Like you.

Just like you.
