Wandering This Earth

Sarah Doughty

“Without you, I wonder if I am destined
to wander this earth without
a true sense of direction or home.”

After all these countless nights without you by my side, I feel like I am sleep walking. Just wandering around without a destination. The memories of us haunt me everywhere I go, and I cannot help but wonder if I will always be haunted by the time we spent together. The time I was happy. And perhaps it is my curse. My reminder of the years I have lived. Knowing that the best of them are far behind me — while I am destined to wander this earth without a true sense of direction or a true feeling of home.

Hold My Hand ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Walt's Writings

Hold my hand
Never let it go
Help me make it through my fears
Your hand is such a comfort
It helps to ease my pain
Walk with me again
Through the memories
That we’ve made
Hand in hand
There is magic in your touch
The power of the Faeries
Lives in you
Hold my hand
Let me feel their power too
When my time has come
Hold my hand
Never let it go
Help me make it
Through my fears

Heretics, Lovers, and Madmen

I will wear red
for my sisters whose health is at risk
for my sisters who have been raped
for my sisters who have been battered
for my sisters who are already struggling
to feed hungry children
for my sisters who need to finish
middle school
high school
college
grad school
for my sisters who are just not prepared

I will wear crimson
for their lifeblood
that will spill in back alleys
that will stain
wire hangers
knitting needles
other unsterilized implements
that become their only choice
in a country that questions
their ability
their very right
to decide

I have been seeing colors of all hues in my mind lately.

I walk down my street and notice the full bloom of the flowers.

Yellow daffodils.

Pink sunsets.

The rain brought growth and vitality.

Green grass.

My stomach turns as I am pulled from my…
