Forever Free ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Walt's Writings

In this make believe world
I wander, wondering where
I will find a safe place to land
A place where I can read you
Poetry by dead men
I’ve grown tired of bright lights
And cityscapes
I don’t want to be king of anything
I want to shed my armor
And breathe again
I want an uncharted place
Where we are young again
A place with no demons
Where old poets and lovers go
To remember once upon another time
A place where we can chase the sun
And float down a river
Where the sounds of silence comfort us
Where you and I spend our nights
Counting stars and making love
Just you and I
Forever free
