a dream killed me (POEM)

Katie Kay

a dream killed me

a dream killed me frame by frame

echoes bound me name by name

kismet warned me claim by claim

this love scorched me flame by flame

though you killed me I’m to blame.

Hold your horses, my dear readers. I promise that I am not brokenhearted or pining after a chico (for those of you who don’t know, chico is “boy” in Spanish, and I say it way too much when referring to males). Nope, I’m quite happy, and this poem was borne out of a humid midnight at home.

Though I am an emotional soul, I challenged myself to write this poem despite the fact that I have no idea where it came from or what it is really about. When I read it for the first time, it sounded like a bad break-up song. While this poem can be analyzed through that lens…

Another Place, Another Time ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Walt's Writings

I’m on my way
Not sure where I’m going
But it doesn’t matter
I’ll know when I get there
I’ve got miles and miles to go
Another night and I’m alone
I play my music
And sing my songs
Don’t you want to hear me?
Don’t you want to be me?
The night is dark and cold
But my blood runs hot
This was a choice I had to make
This is the road I had to take
I’m going back to once upon another time

The Rain is Pounding…
A Storm is Brewing…
It is Intruding on my quiet Night
It sounds like people Shouting
Rains getting Louder…
Tapping Harder Against,
The window Pane

I know your There…
Getting closer, Inviting me to a Dance
A Dance now, the Winds are too High
On the Rooftop…
I may take off in the Sky
It’s Wet and Cold, I May catch a Cold
Tomorrow is a Special Day
InHisCare 🙏

Never Still – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

In-Between – VJs Weekly Challenge

Never Still

The impasse is my own
a junction of life,
my path,
a familiar and worn shoe
now uncomfortable to wear
in some ways and yet,
well, not entirely so,
but all those yesterdays
completely true
though now, while
still with no regret
a Sense of why?
But it is what it is,
what it was as now,
I’ve always been in the in-between
yet never still.
