Poem: Beliefs and Delusions

Crow On The Wire

I never make fun of people’s religions
or political beliefs.

I find it foolish to argue
with those who are full of shit.

I am not naive.
I have my own delusions,
my own distorted ways
of thinking
and figuring out how the world works.

I cross strange territories
instead of crossing myself.
I sail in foreign seas
instead of aligning with those
who dwell above the clouds.

I may not be the sharpest tool
in the shed,
but I do know when I’m being conned.
I take life with a grain of salt,
not taking ideas too seriously
or else I’ll be lulled to sleep.
