These lips
hunger for you—
they have felt the deep pangs
since the moment these eyes beheld
your smile

your smile
can make me melt
until my own smile would
wrap itself ’round the tongue inside
your mouth

your mouth
softens my soul
like summer chocolate,
that it might slip past the gate of
your teeth

your teeth:
pearly pillars
that bar the way to joy—
my hope: to be affected by
your kiss

your kiss—
precious treasure,
a gift saved for that day,
made precious by the hunger of
these lips

these lips
can make me melt
like summer chocolate—
