“The bedrock of our democracy is the rule of law and that means we have to have an independent judiciary, judges who can make decisions independent of the political winds that are blowing.”

People who get me hot under the collar
See if some of your pet peeves made the list?
Today, I’d like to challenge you to write your own Sei Shonagon-style list of “things.” What things? Well, that’s for you to decide!
(My list is about people and not things)
People who get me hot under the collar
A random list of grist
for this useful list;
smirking strangers,
rude co-passengers,
complainers and whiners
noisy diners,
all-knowing kids,
gun-toting kids,
religious fanatics,
cantankerous dyspeptics,
too politically correct people,
too easily swayed sheeple,
gender superiority,
male bashing sorority,
corrupt politicians fooling the masses,
power-hungry moneyed classes,
smug writers,
situation exploiters,
disdainful doctors,
self-important proctors,
constant pleaders
self-serving leaders,
but the one who tops the list
undoubtedly is, a rapist!
The Hungering – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

The Hungering
Those every minutes
the essence of time
ever pressing in on
the fondness of heart
like threads,
constricting
always conscious of the
second hand intruding
with the grief of lonely hours
and furtive meetings for solace,
hungering for each other
as if we’d been apart for
a very long time.

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
People may have their own views about Schwarzenegger, but this quote is spot on! Absolutely right. So when you are looking for a strong person you should look for a person who has struggled to get where they are today, not for someone who has breezed through life.
