The Writing Time ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Walt's Writings

It is the writing time
The hour of night
When sleep won’t come
Somewhere between 1 and 3 AM
When the pain kicks in
And only writing can help
So you pick up your notebook and pen
Say, “Hello old friends”
And you start to write
It doesn’t matter what you write
It will all fall into place
Just let your mind flow
It knows where to go
Let your imagery build
There are no deadlines to fill
The pail on the hill
Will wait for Jack and Jill
Inspiration just hit
When I saw “pail on the hill”
So excuse me my friends
I’ve a poem to end

Overnight showers

Turn rain to living color

Beauty all around

Linda at d’Verse asked us to write a poem showing the significance of water.  Last night’s rain showers left traces of water droplets on my beautiful volunteer flowers that came up along my front walk. I could not resist taking a few photos.
