when shadows crossed
into the darkest night
whispers held
of one more faraway
a name that knew
no sweeter tongue
than memories to taste

eyes denied
the light of
one more
day

when you came for me
a snowflake on a breath
of spring
a paler blue
of robin’s egg
held the blossom tender near
as a bud beneath
the sun drenched sky
a wish against
the wing
