Come share a poem/piece you thought was the best one you read this week. Give a talented writer a shout out on The Cafe’s event!!!

Go Dog Go Café

Pay It Forward 7-4-2018

The baristas at Go Dog Go Cafe are big fans of Pay It Forward Thursdays. We think it is a great opportunity to give a shout-out to another writer who has wowed us or creatively inspired us.  However, Pay It Forward Thursday has not been getting a lot of love lately, which we think is a shame. Dear reader, you are losing out on some great writing! We’ve decided to shake things up a little and the baristas will be reblogging our Pay It Forward picks for the week directly onto GDG Cafe so you don’t miss out on our favorites.

We like this idea so much that we will also reblog the posts you think were the best thing you read this week if you drop a link below. You are invited to post one link to one specific post (600 words or less please!) from someone…

The way it was – Eugenia

Go Dog Go Café

Perception blurred with sensation

Fragrant memories still in wait

Not lost will be the nature of spirit

Weeks will pass numbness will wane

Forever clinging on the edge of time

Beginnings and endings with nowhere to go

Gentle is the Way!

Savvy Raj

Walk as if you are kissing the earth with your feet. THICH NHAT HANH

Words of wisdom from the gentle soul!!!

Gentle is the Way

Yes you are born into this world

But how must you be

Now that you are a part of it?

Your time is preordained.

Yet your destiny is in your being

So be kind and gentle with this world

And be the gift that you are meant to be.

Your gifts are in awakening your senses

So be in harmony with the living you

Flow with the now and just be

To receive what this moment offers you.

Tread carefully, hurt no one

To feel the flow of grace in and around you

Yes, Gentle is the way!

Daily Quote

Jo Hawk

This cartoon hits home.  I am completely focused on “not finishing my novel”. But it doesn’t mean I am not writing. In fact, I find writing is now easier than it was before November. Words spill onto the page in record time. I glance up and I have 300, 500, or 1000 words starting at me. The words are not bad. I like this side effect.

I feel like a weightlifter who has trained hard and then returns to the “normal” routine to find it has become too easy. I like getting more done in less time.

Have you noticed any residual effects from NaNoWritMo?

Keep on writing.

A Life Worth Living – A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Walt's Writings

It’s the little things
The simple unexpected things
That make life worth living
The kindness of a stranger
A hug from a child
A love song on the radio
Favorite poets and poems
The kiss of a breeze
On a hot summer day
Staring at the sunset
From a walk on a beach
An “I love you” from my wife
Slurpy kisses from my dogs
Powerful drum beats
Dreams of Scotland
Memories triggered by a song
When a poem writes itself

To live a life worth living
Is why I am a poet

Exploring the Worlds – #poetry #whatdoyousee?

Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos

The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you.  More info can be found in the link below.

Galaxies full of wondrous delight

Tis a small child’s endless dream

To spin with celestial floating orbs

In such a beautiful astral scene

Even his shadow’s along for the fun

Still, he’s far away from the skies

With colors igniting his imagination

There’s a spark, a gleam, in his eyes

So fascinated, by the universe above

He stops, for a moment, to stare

Wondering what it is that he’ll need

To explore these worlds, up there
