Pay It Forward 7-4-2018

The baristas at Go Dog Go Cafe are big fans of Pay It Forward Thursdays. We think it is a great opportunity to give a shout-out to another writer who has wowed us or creatively inspired us.  However, Pay It Forward Thursday has not been getting a lot of love lately, which we think is a shame. Dear reader, you are losing out on some great writing! We’ve decided to shake things up a little and the baristas will be reblogging our Pay It Forward picks for the week directly onto GDG Cafe so you don’t miss out on our favorites.

We like this idea so much that we will also reblog the posts you think were the best thing you read this week if you drop a link below. You are invited to post one link to one specific post (600 words or less please!) from someone…

Detest the Past Shadows

Confab With Me

If you keep looking at the shadows of the past,
how will the brightness of today is going to last?
Throw that towel,
Detest the veering thoughts,
Listen deeply,
To the whispers of your soul,
‘Cause the incidents of past,
Is for the learning alone,
So, embrace the wisdom,
And set forward.

For there are mountains to tame,
And oceans to cross,
There are moments to accost,
And some names to claim.

Go live your dream my friend,
A world of happiness,
Is awaiting around the corner,
Go clasp its hand.

Work & life

Savvy Raj

Work is not all of life
And life is not all work

All is in a days work ?
I wonder if the world could see
The simplest truth of life and work.

Work has its place in life
But it must not takeover life
Treat work well meet and greet
On its terms but dont get bound by it.

The canvas of life is expansive
And yet inclusive
And work is not all.
Many facets of life bring on the shine
Each facet carrying its purpose of being.

An experience of each begets the wisdom
Make time for it all.

Work is work only if work is treated like work.
Dont abuse it. dont disregard .
Treat it with dignity own up to it
Value it as an opportunity .

Give it your best shot
Take nothing for granted
For every bit matters.
Respect work as it t comes…

A wish and a prayer

“Yemen war: 5,000 children dead or hurt and 400,000″

Compared to 22 other high-income nations, the United States’ gun-related murder rate is 25 times higher. And, even though the United States’ suicide rate is similar to other countries, the nation’s gun-related suicide rate is eight times higher than other high-income countries, researchers said”
More than 1 in 10 Syrians have been wounded or killed since the beginning of the war in 2011, according to a new report that finds a staggering 470,000 deaths have been caused by the conflict, either directly or indirectly.
“The numbers are staggering: Six women killed every day, according to one organization. Over the past two decades, reports Brooke Binkowski in Mexicali, Mexico, the killing or disappearance of women has become so frequent, a new term has entered the country’s lexicon: femicidio”

“2300 killed in Palestine, violence and war.”

Tone: Angels and butterflies

e-Paper Poetry of Vinx

I don’t know
What you see in me
That makes you love me…

But all I know
Is I get so high
When you hold me tight…

I am stain dark
Yet Angel like you
Interacts with me

I don’t know
The magic I did
That makes you love me

The butterflies
Gathers around us
When you come around,

I don’t know
Why; Angel like you
Love someone… like me.

A Slice of Heaven

From the Front Porch

They weren’t doing anything in particular.

Just another evening at home.

But there radiated such joy,

such visible love between

the young mom and her daughters.

They were contented and happy

to be part of a moment

they created and shared,

a little slice of heaven on display

just by loving each other,

showing us all that

life was always meant to be

that simple.
