Once Upon an Autumn
In the land that love forgot
lit by the light of an autumn moon
Memory stirred and held a thought
of those once upon a time days
When roses
rich with red
scented days with hope
Wind-strewn days with fallen apple
air fresh with suckled honey
When once You and I loved
smitten
immersed in this infinity
enamoured
Longing
in those autumn days
Regaining in their wistful hours
what summer once had brought us
All now lost in time’s story
But always and forever
written on memory’s scroll.
Chai and a Chat – #3 #ChaiAndAChat

- If we were sipping a chai together, I’d tell you, first and foremost that I am on half term break! No getting up extra early for a week at least, and with kids being that little bit older, they like lay-ins too, so win-win!
- If we were sipping a chai together, I’d also lament over the fact the fact that, though the migraines haven’t made a reappearance in the last week, I had an earache, followed by a terrible sore throat, culminating in the infamous teacher’s half term exhaustion cold! Be sure and read Dorinda’s – PETALS AND PARASOLS
Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos
She let her memories escape, yesterday’s dreams
Broken pieces of her life, scattered, tattered
Pressed between the pages, sheltered only
By the pale ivory lace, of a faded parasol
This, her only regret, leaving this treasure
Far behind, knowing, it was the last connection
To a life, she no longer cherished, wilted petals
Pressed between pages, the broken pieces of her life

This week, Colleen has given us free reign! It’s Poet’s Choice! We can choose any words we want. Remember, you can only use synonyms to write your poetry! I used Adhere and Pieces. 🙂
With the cold air
Raindrops cling to the trees
In small fragments of winter’s tears
And freeze

IN LOVING MEMORY OF…..
Don’t Miss this Great Post by Thelma!!
Quagmire
All those long standing walls,
those determined thoughts
the promise to never meet
the grit not to be deceived
vanishes, the moment I heard her voice

Autumn Lovely
Raining now and cooler
Autumn’s finally gotten hold
But there’s still a little warmth out there
and it’s not yet all that cold
