Sleeping Fireball

Roth Poetry

Spring Forward… Fall Backwards

It happens every year as regular as clockwork

Playing with light // playing with time

Daylight Savings Time // Eastern Standard Time

Shifting daylight // stealing from dusk

Watching in desperation as the sun goes to sleep

Snoring through December as light dissolves into darkness

Like a bear in winter chasing dreams through the galaxy

Sleet and snow keep us slip sliding away

Wishing for lengthening days and summer sunshine

When once again that sleepy fireball lights up the sky

Feelings

Sabrina Escorcio

IMG_4036

I am often told
that emotions
are fleeting
that they come
and then go
as for me
this is far from truth
when I encounter
a feeling
I am victim
to its intensity of touch
fondling every piece
of its existence

I reside within its world
and stay awhile
travel
see the sights
experience
it’s hidden treasures
and monuments
converse
with its inhabitants
at times I even argue
with my travel companion
keep record of my moments
both good and bad
then add each
to the photo album
hidden in my mind
knowing it won’t be long
before I visit
with them again

My Words Are Yours

Confab With Me

And I plunged into your heart
through your meandering silhouette talks, each word pulling me into you,
each verse firming the bond
and after drenching in your tinge
I realize your love is divine,
your thoughts have the depth of the abyss
and your soul consumed me
drawing me into you
and now my thoughts, my words, my verses, my proses
have become deviant
for they are now yours

Happy birthday, mankind

Didi's Art Design

This poem is dedicated to my friend Chuck who turned 70 years yesterday – all good wishes my friend 🙂
Dear blog-reader, please check out his lovely poem-blog:
https://thereluctantpoetweb.wordpress.com/

Born in a day of light
Life paves it way
Along pearls of years
Given by God

Deep thankfulness remains
In the heart
For mother and father
Giving life though oneness

Each year a candle is lit
In our heart and spirit
For life is given
Celebration of our being

Let us use this being
To be in harmony with everyone
Then our birthday is a celebration
For all of us…

Warrior – Version 2

Penny Wilson Writes

*I’ve had some suggestions about a few of my pieces from a friend.  I’m taking those pieces and reworking them.  So you may see some things here that look familiar.  I feel this new version of Warrior flows better and makes more sense.  I hope you enjoy it.  ❤

She does not fear the battle.

Her battle started long ago.

She knows her worth.

She will not cower.

Nor compromise.

She sees tomorrow

for the daughters

and the sisters.

Tomorrow’s legacy.

She will stand tall

in the face of those

that would cast her

to the shadows.

Those that do not

want her truth to be heard.

Tomorrow brings hope,

for a time when

she can lay down her sword,

and her sisters will go

Free.
