The night has a rhythm all it’s own
Every movement of the stars
Every wave that kisses the shore
Every night song carried on the breeze
All have a rhythm
A foot tapping beat
Even the trees sway to the rhythm
The rustling of the autumn leaves
The tolling of the town square clocks
All keeping in time to the rhythm of the night
The night is the time for poetry
Walks through a moonlit cemetery
Driving a dark country road
And shaggin’ on the boulevard
Pay attention and you’ll feel it
Watch closely and you’ll see it
Listen and you’ll hear it
The rhythm of the night
