Go Dog Go Café

Pay It Forward 7-4-2018

The baristas at Go Dog Go Cafe are big fans of Pay It Forward Thursdays. We think it is a great opportunity to give a shout-out to another writer who has wowed us or creatively inspired us.  However, Pay It Forward Thursday has not been getting a lot of love lately, which we think is a shame. Dear reader, you are losing out on some great writing! We’ve decided to shake things up a little and the baristas will be reblogging our Pay It Forward picks for the week directly onto GDG Cafe so you don’t miss out on our favorites.

We like this idea so much that we will also reblog the posts you think were the best thing you read this week if you drop a link below. You are invited to post one link to one specific post (600 words or less please!) from someone…

You and I/poem by MwsR

Mws R Writings

Are my compass, and my north star

My journey till the end of this life

I feel you in everything I do or dream of

With you comes much joy and also much pain.

Never knew how much someone could love me,

Till I met you and you showed me

Wished upon a star and you came into my life.

Hope, for things once more, learned to believe in love again.

Today is just another tomorrow…

Her Writing Haven

blondeToday is just
Another tomorrow
A chance to forget
Those long lost sorrows

Stepping back
From the fractured view
Leaving behind wild nights
Of a foolish hue

Summers past
Often filled with drunken rambling
All those frozen moments
Of risky gambling

Thank god those days
Are over and gone
And we’ve second chances
To finally move on

My Four Legged Friend

R.I.P Brusier
A.K.A. My best friend

You were there and
watched me cry.
You were so needy
I will not lie.

So full of energy you never quit.
Always chasing my car
as I tried to split.

So relentless you were,
you never gave in.
Always in my face
I could not win.

If I got up so did you.
I went to the bathroom
then you went to.

Everywhere I went
there you were.
Whether I liked it or not
you would push on through.

You being needy was a
running joke.
Now your gone and I wished
your needy little butt was
here to poke.

Life without my best friend
will never be the same.
Loosing you is such a shame.

Thank you for listening
to all my troubles.
You never talked back
or burst my bubble.

You loved me
no matter what I did.
You thought you…

Lost in translation

Megha's World

“The quiet sense of something lost”
― Alfred Tennyson

I’m lost in the translation
wandering between the pages of  a book
hiding between the folds
and sitting under a neatly folded
dog-eared page
waiting to be pulled
I’m surrounded by the pages
of my life
and left behind in the
stories untold
that old shattered spine
of that dusty book
mirrors my life
I fervently crave for that
intense fresh smell
we usually find
in the binds of book
so new
so naive
I crave for that smell
which lingers on my breath
and gushes the memories of life
I rushed to forget
I’m lost in the folds
and the missing pages
where my story took a break
and can be found
in those missing traces
That blotch of the ink
like a stain on my soul
hides the very essence of my life
devoured it whole
I’m lost in the translation
wandering between the pages

Child-Like Innocence

Sarah Doughty

“You made me feel like anything was possible.
Because you fell in love with me.”

Being with you was unlike anything I ever imagined. It was special. It left me breathless. It made me believe in magic again. It was like I’d forgotten a big part of who I was. And with you, I felt young, free, and capable of accomplishing anything. And that’s really what anyone wants. To feel like flying with the one they love. To see their entire future reshape itself into something beautiful with this person that opened their eyes with wonder once again. That rekindled their child-like innocence — where anything is possible. Where endings are always happy. And where nobody ever dies.

That’s what you are to me. Because you are magic. And because you fell in love with me.
