Indigo sea

Siren Whispers

It is always when evening descends

that I seek what eludes me by day,

gazing at the night sky in hope, in wonder.

 I whisper

‘throw your arms around me

and let me feel the midnight

seep into every pore’.

I will slip into this glorious, unending indigo sea

and lose myself in all that exists beneath the surface,

a quick, dark essence

that pulls like tidal waves

revealed as moonlight slips over my skin.

Dreaming by the Sea

Nuggets of Gold

She couldn’t think of a better place to be. Sitting here by the sea gazing at the water shimmering in the sunlight.  A  place where she could be alone with her thoughts, as she breathed in the soft fragrance of the beautiful flowers.

There were times where she enjoyed being surrounded by nothing but the sound of the water hitting the rocks and the breeze rustling the leaves.

Times when she could clearly her her soul speak.

Times when all distractions were shut out. Where the only distraction may be the buzz of a bee or a butterfly flying by her on its journey.

When she could bask in the warmth of the sunlight shining on her, seeping into her soul.

Inner Strength

real-lifepoetryblog

My hands go on to share
the words I write.
In hopes it goes on to touch
even a single soul tonight.

For if one can find strength
in all that I share, then what I’ve endured will be worth it in gold
to show that YES someone really does care.

Strength comes from
inside of you and me.
It may be laying dormant and at times impossible to see.

If you feel like you
are a little down and out
just hold on a little tighter
as you carry yourself about.

Tomorrow will come and bring you another ray of hope.
In some shape or form to help you get by and cope.

The dark clouds will lift it can’t stay dark forever.
This storm too shall pass
so no need to give at all whatsoever.

Find your hidden strength that you have the one we all host

Get Up

Sarah Doughty

“It is okay to break.
Just don’t stay that way.”

Sometimes breaking can be beautiful. Powerful. Like a wildfire blazing across the horizon. There’s destruction, but there’s colors. There’s smoke. And ruin. It’s not your fault for being this way. It’s not your fault for burning to the ground, or shattering like a mirror. It’s not your fault for grieving what you’ve lost. It’s okay to break. As long as you can put yourself back together and stand back up. You are needed. You are loved. And nothing will hold you down. Don’t let life break you permanently.

So please, get back up and keep fighting.
