By Charles Robert Lindholm

You’d Know I Was A Liar,
If I Tried To Tell You That Life
Has Been Smooth Sailing
With No Storms Or Dangers,
Even A Fool Knows
That’s Not True

I’ve Learned My Lessons
The Way I Always Seem To Do
The Hard Way
Walking Crooked Paths
Travelin’ Down Some Wrong Roads
Making My Own Way
On Life’s Journey
Headed Toward
The Heaven Or Hell
That Lies Ahead

But I’ve Been Blessed
Along The Way
By Some Wise Friends
Who Cared Enough
To Let Me See
Their Scars And Flaws
And Listen To Their Stories
About Life And Love And Wisdom

They Shared The Secrets
They Learned For Joy And Happiness
And The Pitfalls And Dangers To Avoid
In Hopes That What They Learned
Might Be A Sort Of Map
Towards A Better Life For Me

They Taught Me To Follow
My Heart And Listen
To The Whispers On The Wind
And From My Soul

To Be Kind And Caring
And Live In Peace
And Treasure Love
As The Precious Gift It Is

I Learned Of Courage,
Trust, Justice And Friendship
From Those Who Dared To
Share Their Scars And Flaws,
Who Dared To Bare Their Souls
To Point Me In The Right Direction

I Learned To Follow The Stars Without A Map
Across The Seas And Mountains And Valleys In Life
And I Am Thankful For That Gift

But The Most Important Gift Has Been
Teaching Me How To Find An Inner Peace
And Joy In My Soul That Has Led Me,
As True As Any Map,
To A Life Of Happiness And Love

I’ve Traveled Some Wrong Roads
But That Was Long Ago
Perhaps, You’d Like To Walk Awhile
And I’ll Tell You What I Know?

Inspired by Megha Sood’s – MAP – MICRO POETRY on meghasworldsite and a little “Nudge” from Mega to find a seed of inspiration and see what happened. Well, I guess this is it!
Thank you Dear Megha!!

  1. This is so so beautiful…way beautiful than my micro poetry. I’m so honored to inspire this for you. Your words speak of the truth the life lessons we learn from our mistakes and the mistakes made by the people around us. You have used the underlying emotions of my micro poetry and have expanded it so well. I read it again and again. Thanks for honoring me with your words.Bravo, Chuck.

    1. Oooh, Megha!! You surely know how to make a Little Ol’ Poet happy, don’t you?? I am so very happy you like this! Well, you have poetic DNA in this, My Dear! This would not be but for your wonderful seed of inspiration that made it all happen! All the emotions and wisdom was packed in your little seed! I’m so happy you can experience how super it is to inspire someone!! It seems I’m more an inspire rather than one who inspires others. I am so happy to let everyone know that this was a result of your seed of inspiration and surely your nudge!! I’m so grateful for you nudging me!!!

      1. See how beautiful you have put in words “my poetic DNA”. I am humbled by your words and all the words of encouragement you have given me. Means a lot. I still remember the first time you gave me tips to improve my poetry and I’ll cherish it forever. Love and hugs to you, Chuck.

        1. Just reread this after Dwight made a comment on it and can’t believe I wrote it – it seems your poetic DNA was strong! I am forever in your debt for this piece and your seed of inspiration and “nudge”. Sorry, I didn’t answer this way back when! Going to make this a candidate for my book! Be safe, My Dear!
