Homesick
Stillness
When you want nothing more than to give up, don’t. If you never read another word, listen to another lyric, or feel another poem, at least know this. Don’t give up. Find your solace, that stillness in your heart and your mind, and let it fill you to the brim. Let everything else out. If that means crying harder than you ever did your life, then cry. Laugh. Whatever you need to do. Do it. Be still. Be at peace. And let go.
Then live again.

DROPLET – REPRISE

By Charles Robert Lindholm 1-27-2017 – 8:30 p.m.
The strand of web vibrates
and the spider darts out
to see what he has captured.
only a droplet?
disappointed
he returns to hiding
he won’t be fooled again
as more droplets
fall from the skies
and onto his web.
raindrops on a spider’s web?
No, teardrops from my eyes
as my broken heart tries
to forget
you
