with it’s ally the rain

the leaves of autumn

the countless casualties
scattered about
lying face down
to the earth
with stems

as the barren trees

    1. Oh, Dear Megha! I love that you always read between my lines!! So cool! Yes, there is a lot of pain and sadness in the “stripping” of leaves from the trees. A yearly battle and yet the sadness of trees is only temporary for they laugh in knowing that Spring will bring them new leaves!! A little hidden irony!
