Warning… daily prompt word ‘premature’, my heart is telling me this is going to be a sad poem… let’s see shall we?

Twisted Sheets

Twisted sheets lie draped across my body
Dawn breaks
As I fitfully shuffle and turn
Morning light illuminating my skin with a soft glow
Prematurely rousing me from my restless sleep
My eyelids, heavy with exhaustion, flutter open
Next to me lies an empty space
and my memories.
