Happiness

Come read Sarah’s – HAPPINESS

Sarah Doughty

“All I ever wanted
was to make you happy.
And I will never give up trying.”

All I ever wanted was to make you happy. Though you deny it, I know I failed. I wanted to show the world I could survive anything. And I did try. But at every turn, it feels like one step forward leads to two steps back. And with so much at stake — being a mother, a bleeding heart, an empath, a wife, a person — a living, breathing, person — a survivor, it feels as if all I can do lately is fail.

All I ever wanted was to be happy. I guess I failed at that too

But that doesn’t mean I will ever give up trying.

© Sarah Doughty

I will never give up trying.

No Accident

Come read Nandita’s writing and you will see her words are – NO ACCIDENT.

A Tangle of Weeds

I may have stumbled upon poetry
accidentally one day
driven by extreme voices
strangulated far too long
within the confines of a stubborn mind
overthrown at last by a profusely bleeding heart.

But I am, by no means, an accidental poet.
I had poetry trapped in my veins
Lying dormant, just no escape..
Until that fated day
When it poured, never to stop again…

I am not an occasional poet either
I do not write because I like to.
I write because I have to.
There lies the difference!

If you’ve sensed pathos in my dark writings
You have also seen the delirium
of what I become
when in love;
I speak in metaphors!
I become what I speak
I speak what I bleed.
And when my poetry aches
I seek refuge in your words.
