The Art of Poetry

Come meet the artist in poetry – THE ART OF POETRY

Dark Side of the Moon

Brush of the artist, pen of the scribe—
Tools that she handles with equal finesse.
Able the eye and the ear to impress—
What she has tasted, gives us to imbibe.
Painting a picture using her words—
Paper, the canvas; life is the scene.
And on the easel, color ungirds,
Telling a story with writing unseen.
Poetry springs not from technique;
The artist makes the art unique.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND LIFE?

By Charles Robert Lindholm

ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN LENNON

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the

key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when

I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the

assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”

Perhaps, if we understood more about what is really important in life
we would be happier and more concerned with World Peace, fairness
and justice!!!

‘I adored you

Come read this beautifully penned poem of remembrance and yearning where unspoken words are the ones we regret most – I ADORED YOU.

johncoyote

I adored you

I loved you near and afar,
I loved your soft voice and beautiful face.
I stood near you and we held hands and shared drinks.
We traveled California one and I watched your dance
on the quiet beaches.

We found private places where you laid bare and free.
I could see a woman I beloved in silence .
But my need for you,
You never felt.
Because I didn’t show you, who I was.
All I wanted was you,
Near but far away.

Today I’m alone without you.
And you,
so far away from me.
Today my only wish,
is that I told you I adored you.
