Sand Castles
Come and enjoy – SAND CASTLES.
A knife blade of coast
line separates us,
the stagnating scent of mangrove
fills my nostrils and the sediment
of time seeps ashore to sink
slowly into porous sand.
If I could I would take you high
into velvet skies where stars
form a swaying Ferris wheel.
Be a comet in my palm until
the night surrenders to the sun.
At low tide I build our castle
in my cove of madness where
again and again I watch their walls
wash out to sea,
this home I have constructed
where no one lives.

Quote a Week Tuesday
Come read Gun Roswell’s great – “QUOTE-A-WEEK-TUESDAY 20.
Posted in A Quote a Week Tuesday
For this week’s quote of the week, I have chosen a reminder for us all:
Practice like you’ve never won,
In everything you do;
Success isn’t made overnight,
Let it be well done by you.
Perform like you’ve never lost,
Do all the best that you can;
No need for wasting time,
Show that you are the man.
Practice like you’ve never won,
Losing shall pull you down;
Exert extra effort to prevail,
Becoming talk of the town.
Perform like you’ve never lost,
Don’t be scared to make a mistake;
Learn lessons from failures
To taste the icing of the cake.
Discipline is all you need,
Days of negligence are gone;
Triumph tomorrow shall shine,
Practice like you’ve never won.

Unwrapped Heart
Come read the wonderfully romantic and tender poem – UNWRAPPED HEART.
You have unwrapped my heart
painted it in passion
stained it with love
walked with it
into a sentimental journey
where you ushered me
into a breathtaking new dawn

A response poem to Davy D’s question What Is Poetry? on the Go Dog Go Cafe
it is a stir
an ache
rising from my core
growing in urgency
pushing to my surface
gasping hungrily for air
sitting impatiently on my tongue
black pearl
ruby
tear shaped diamond
waiting
for hand to grasp pen
fingers to touch keys
truth to be unleashed
an explosion of my soul
made visible
in black ink
