AN INTIMATE KISS

By Charles Robert Lindholm

I Wait For Her
In The Backside Of The Night
At The Place We Always Meet,
My Old Desk,
Where I Always Go To Write

The Light’s Down Low
In The Silence
Chasing Back The Darkness
From Paper Smooth And White

No Hustle And Bustle
Interruptions
Intruding On Our Precious
And Fleeting Time Together

She Comes And Softly
Wraps Around My Soul
Whispering Words
Of Love For Me

She Holds My Hand
As I Hold My Pen
And Write The Words
She Whispered

My Pen Lusts
For The Smoothness
Of Paper On Which
To Make Long Stokes
Of Red Ink
And The Chance
To Create A Love Poem
With Words
Soaking Deep
Below The Surface

I Feel The Rush
Of Oneness
As My Muse
And I Finish
Our Sweet Connection

And As She Leaves Me
She Puts Her Sweet Lips
Upon My Paper
And Places
An Intimate Kiss
On The Words
I’ve Written
So You Mayย  Know
The Love Of My Muse
And Feel It
When You Read Them

  1. As always Chuck, humbled and appreciative that our conversations can spark poetry like this. Your muse always leaves inspiring thoughts for us.

    1. Ha! And I am so happy that you keep dropping poetic pebbles in the WordPress pond that ripple out to me. Will be indebted forever to you, My Friend!!! I am so happy that you still follow this Little Ol’ Poet!! Yes, my muse has been good to me and I hope I can always keep her coming back.

      1. I think this community Chuck is as much about friendships as it is the writing, and it is always a pleasure to visit and read your work.

        1. Well said, Davy! I feel that way too and it always seems to bring new and wonderful people/writers to us. I love that part. No need to hang out at poetry bars! Ha! (sorry, I couldn’t resist). Thanks for the lovely comment. I never leave reading any of your works without feeling blessed!
