Last Embrace

Come and share the feelings of warmth and love in the “Last Embrace”!

Writing and Reflections

I suppose we all take for granted

that these days would last forever

Did you come to say goodbye?

I felt you move through me

                                I was there

                                Your quickening pulse

traced the last beats of my heart

                                in this, our final embrace

It was in that moment I knew

when an overwhelming moment

of love washed my soul clean

I felt you by my side

                                I was there

The warmth of the morning sun

                                carried my love to you

                                in this, our final embrace

Whisper and the Roar

In honor of National Poetry Month

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.

The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
