I Lie To Myself
In An Effort
To Make Me
Feel Better
It Works
For Awhile
But The Truth
Is A Hunter
And Always
Finds My Heart
And Soul
Hiding
From The Reality
Of What Is
I Wanted You
But It Was
Not Meant To Be
And So
I Lie To Myself
I Say,
It Doesn’t Matter,
I Am Better Off
Without You,
And My Feelings
For You Will
Disappear In Time
I Lie To Myself
Hoping That Soon
I Will Arrive
At A Place In Time
Where I Won’t Care
And I Won’t Have To
Lie To Myself Anymore

Nice poetry Chuck and I love the line “truth is a hunter” Very few people can hide from it, even those with power and wealth.
