The Alabaster Box

Come read this moving piece on grace and forgiveness!!

Dark Side of the Moon

His fame soon spread throughout the province;
The wealthy wanted Him for their guest.
She was known too—though in reproach.
No woman in her line could aim
For grace.

Yet bowing down in true penitence,
She washed His feet with tears unsuppressed.
In mercy He forgave her sin—
With a word He did all her shame

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at dinner in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping, and began to wash His feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed His feet, and anointed them with the ointment…. And He said unto her, “Your sins are forgiven.” Luke 7:37-38,48
