THE WOLF MOON

DORINDA'S WOLF MOON
By Charles Robert Lindholm

The Wolf Moon
high
in the night sky
burning

awakens
an inner
instinctive
yearning
in my soul

Many moons
have come and gone
since you left me
and I moved on

but late at night
in the full moon’s light
old memories haunt me
as I lose the fight
and remember you

and my heart cries out
in a mournful howl
