it’s really quite a favor
though at times it’s hard to see
it took awhile to see the light
when the message came to me
when there’s doubt about her feelings
when she wakes up next to you
leaving is the best thing
in the long run she can do
and though it seems so selfish
when they say “I must be free”
it’s really quite a favor
and in time it’s plain to see
