By Charles Robert Lindholm
We were pawns
the little pieces
in a fight
between opponents
Mom and Dad
Stranded in the middle
pulled in both directions
unable to move
afraid to choose
surrounded on a battle line
running through my heart
Pawns
little pieces
in a war
that was never won
