THE NIGHT CRIED

-Memories of the Past-
By Charles Robert Lindholm

And the night cried
With a shower of tears
In torrents
When it learned
The truth about you
That you were leaving
Us for another
Someone
Something
Somewhere
The night
Threw lightening
Across the sky
At the speed
Of light
And sobbed
And yelled, “NO”
With rolling thunder
It threw hail
At the roof
And walls
And everywhere
Like a child
Who is hurt
Or in pain
I understand
About another
Someone
Something
Somewhere
And it hurt
Me too
But I had to
Let you go
I had to let you
Soar
Without me
the tears
Fell in torrents
As the night
Cried
And
So did I

        1. Happy you are relaxing! Have you recovered from the stress of getting the house ready?
Ok, Dear Lady, You don’t get to bail on me like that!! “What moves me”. I am also depending on expert eyes and judgment like yours as a to what I should look at and consider. I may not have even seen or read this but for you reading it and commenting!! My definition of a great poem is something that reaches out and touches the heart of a reader. The fact that it did for you is the feedback I need!! Common on now, don’t wimp out on helping me find the poems that touch your heart, My Dear!!

Also, just searched for your latest views, comments and am overjoyed to see the abundance of riches you left me with all of Yours!!! Yeah!! i am so happy and honored, Jeanne, that you are willing to spend time with me and my words!!! I so enjoy it!! Maybe as you read more of my poems you might become more inclined and tempted to write with me??? I keep rereading our duet and can’t wait for Our Next Time???
Hope you have a happy day, My Dear!!

  1. Apparently we are channeling each other. I just wrote something similar. Perhaps you had a thunderstorm there, too? They always inspire me to write about the falling of the rain 🙂
